The Ridge Riders of the Black Hills Mountain Bike Club is seeking sponsors for the 8th Annual Dakota Five-0 Mountain Bike Race/Ride/Tour on August 31, 2008 and the 3rd Annual Tinton Trail Time Trial, June 21-22nd 2008!

The Dakota Five-0 is a 50 mile ride that winds along the western rim of Spearfish Canyon, connecting US Forest Service trails and Ridge Rider single track. The event is staged out of Spearfish Park Band Shell.   This makes an ideal venue location for an all day event. Camping and downtown accommodations are a short pedal away. Thanks to our sponsors, there has been lots of food, drinks, and prizes awarded to every entrant and large cash prizes for top finishers. In the last 7 years the Dakota FIVE-0 has grown in attendance to nearly 300 riders and has been featured in Bike Magazine, Dirt Rag, and National Geographic Adventure Magazine.


Tinton Trail Time Trial is two days of mountain bike races & rides staged out of Big Hill Trailhead. This trail was recently featured in Bike Magazine as a South Dakota premier trail. The Tinton Time Trial is a unique mountain bike event that is fun for all ages and abilities. Shuttles, Barbeque, Drinks, kids races and camping provided.  

The Ridge Riders have a long history of putting on mountain cycling events (since 1986). We are looking for sponsors, and if this letter found its way into your hands, we would like you to be one. We have specifically targeted sponsors who have a common interest in supporting this type of event and will get the exposure in advertising and community support.

The sponsorship is broken down into 3 categories: $500 Golden (headline sponsors), $250 Silver, and $175 Bronze level. Headline level sponsors will get their logo on a T-shirt of very high quality with original local art work! Headline and Silver level sponsors will get exposure on the race flyers (large and colorful, advertised nationally). All Sponsors will have an opportunity to have banners displayed at the Start/Finish (Spearfish Park Bandshell) and your business announced during the race, awards ceremony and air time on local radio, newspaper, web site link, and other advertisements.

Any amount of donation (cash or prizes) would be greatly appreciated and will go towards making the 8th Annual Dakota FIVE-0 and Tinton Trail Time Trial the best cycling events possible.
